BC Penthouse Features Stunning Black and White Design

A penthouse in British Columbia’s Victoria harbourfront boasts panoramic views and a luxe interior, thanks to a stunning renovation by Jenny Martin Design. The West Edit, an iconic building, was restored and reimagined to bring back its lavish interior.

The sub-penthouse is a sculptural masterpiece, featuring rich natural stone, statement fixtures, and iconic silhouettes. It was designed for a couple who are patrons of the arts, with a focus on showcasing key artistic displays.

A Canvas for Art

The interior of the condo is a canvas that masterfully showcases one-of-a-kind pieces, including a coveted collection of Canadian and International Artists. The space seamlessly incorporates pieces from the family’s private collection.

The home’s sensory experience was optimized to transition the interior from dawn to dusk, with slick concealed LED lighting highlighting key architectural elements. A glow is cast throughout the interior, paralleling the allure of the city streets beyond.

Modern Kitchen Renovation

The kitchen is wrapped in Arabescato Corchia marble, which cascades behind custom reeded glass cabinets, allowing dappled light to filter in. The space features a locally fabricated custom metal shroud with suspended knot Apparatus sconces, indulging in extravagance.

The penthouse pairs dark, moody tones with light, open spaces, making the black-and-white palette feel warm instead of cold. The Arabescato marble and reeded glass cabinetry make the kitchen a standout, while the mix of Canadian and international art gives every room a personal touch.

In practice, this development means that residents can enjoy a unique blend of art, culture, and opulence, with the penthouse’s design creating a seamless transition between different spaces and experiences. The use of natural stone, statement fixtures, and iconic silhouettes adds to the sense of luxury, making the penthouse a truly special place to live.

Butler’s Pantry and Hidden Storage Design

The penthouse features a number of unique design elements, including a butler’s pantry and hidden storage. The bar nook and sun-filled owner’s suite are particular highlights, with the renovation keeping the building’s original character while giving the interior a refreshed look.

The penthouse’s rooftop terrace offers stunning harbour views, making it the perfect spot to relax and entertain. The walk-in closet and dressing room are also notable features, providing ample storage and space to get ready.

Other notable features of the penthouse include a powder room with statement wallpaper and a laundry room and mudroom storage. The outdoor living and entertaining space is also a highlight, with plenty of room to host guests and enjoy the beautiful views.
